CatDog World: After Humans is a fresh and engaging survival strategy game where cats, dogs, and other animals take charge in a world without humans.

With its unique mix of shelter building, resource management, and legendary companion recruitment, it’s quickly becoming a favorite among both casual and competitive players. Based on early impressions, we’ve put together key tips and strategies to help you build the strongest animal tribe, survive harsh challenges, and expand your territory with style. Once you start upgrading companions, managing your base, and exploring the Path of Legends, you’ll find it hard to put the game down.

This CatDog World: After Humans companion tier list will be updated regularly to reflect balance changes, new companion releases, and shifting survival strategies. Our goal is to give you the most accurate and practical insights so you can stay ahead of the competition and build the most effective animal team possible.

Our evaluation is based on each companion’s current stats and abilities, with a strong focus on those that help you progress efficiently — even through the game’s toughest late-stage survival challenges. We also prioritized traits that are likely to remain valuable over time, regardless of future balance updates or new modes being introduced.

 Tier list:

From B to SS

In our opinion, all current companions in CatDog World: After Humans are fairly well-balanced and show solid potential across different stages of survival. Instead of cluttering the tier list with forgettable lower ranks like C, E, or F, we kept things simple and practical — organizing companions into just four meaningful tiers: B, A, S, and SS.

This structure helps you focus on what matters: building strong, reliable teams without overthinking every pick. Whether you’re surviving heatwaves, pushing through late-game battles, or just optimizing your daily resource runs, this tier list gives you a clear look at which companions are truly worth your time.

After all, does anyone really care about F-tier units? Exactly.

Tier B - Just OK Heroes

A Siamese cat with bright blue eyes, wearing a green scarf, crouching on a patch of green grass outdoors with a blurred background featuring a red vehicle, a tire, and some stone structures.

Orpheus is a B-tier cat companion with low impact damage. It mixes some survivability with basic attacks, but honestly, it’s kind of boring and not very clever. Works okay for mid-game, but don’t expect it to shine in tough late-stage survival.

Orpheus

A living room scene with a house cat wearing jewelry, standing on a patch of grass with a blurry vintage truck in the background.

Axiang is a B-tier companion — basically a cat you keep around for the research boost. Not much else going on, so don’t expect it to carry fights or late-game challenges, but it’s fine for team utility.

Axiang

A plush toy dog with a brown fur coat and a blue collar, standing on grass with an old car and tires in the background.

Bella is a B-tier dog companion — weak and unimpressive. It tries to mix attack and defense, but honestly, it’s done very poorly. Lame overall, just there for filler if you need a team spot.

Bella

Tier A - Good Heroes

Animated dog character with a green bandana sitting on a grassy patch, with a background of tires and a blurred truck or vehicle.

Dogo Suke is an A-tier companion — excellent for hunting across the map with solid speed and hit-and-run potential. It’s reliable and gets the job done, nothing crazy flashy, but perfectly solid for an A-tier pick.

Yamamoto Suke

Animated brown dog with a pink collar, skull pendant, and a blue star patch, standing on grass in a video game environment.

Melody is an A-tier companion and a solid healer. I spent a while thinking if it might even deserve S-tier, but for now it sits in A because there are others who feel stronger. Great for keeping your team alive, reliable in mid- to late-game, but not quite the top-tier superstar… yet.

Melody

A dog with a white face and ears, wearing a camouflage vest with a badge, sits on grass with a yellow bowl, a colorful ring, and a leash. A blurred car and stone structures are in the background.

Haru is an A-tier companion — extremely strong and could even be S-tier if you don’t have a stronger damage dealer. Reliable and powerful, a solid pick for mid- to late-game survival, but not quite top-tier if you’ve got the heavy hitters.
